WordPress Quick Tips: Finding Your Page ID

Sometimes it’s the really simple things that can have you running around in circles wondering where on earth something is. Well, Page ID is often one of these.

If you use WordPress in it’s most basic form (i.e. you don’t get involved in the programming) then you don’t often need the Page ID. However, if you use certain widgets you soon find that you desperately need to know it and you don’t know where to look. For example, a widget that shows all your pages will have a box in it so you can exclude certain pages but you need the ID to do it!

Well, as in most instances like this, it is very very simple!!

If you take a look at the image below you will see I am in the ‘Pages‘ area. To find a Page ID simply hover your mouse over the page title and lo and behold the ID number appears in the URL at the bottom of the screen!

So, I’m hovering over the page called ‘My Account‘ and the bar says that this page has the following URL:

The number I have highlighted is your Page ID!

Simple.

I’ll know where to come if I need help with WordPress. (Like your cat at the top of the site–really cute!)
